Tackling Society's Grand Challenges with Design Science

This book constitutes the thoroughly refereed proceedings of the 11th International Conference on Design Science Research in Information Systems and Technology, DESRIST 2016, held in St. John, Newfoundland, Canada, in May 2016.

The 11 full papers, 2 short papers and 9 short papers describing prototypes and products were carefully reviewed and selected from 54 submissions. The papers are organized around the following topics: methodological aspects of design science; applications of design science research to real world  design problems, for example in social media, health care systems, embedded technologies, climate, security.
