De Lof der zotheid (Moriae encomium, sive Stultitiae laus) is het bekendste werk van de Nederlandse humanist Desiderius Erasmus. Het is een satire die in 1511 werd gepubliceerd. De titel bevat een dubbelzinnigheid. Enerzijds kan men het interpreteren als Loflied op de Zotheid, waarbij Zotheid dus, passief, datgene is dat geprezen wordt; anderzijds als de Lof van de Zotheid waarbij de Zotheid, actief, op ironische wijze prijst wat in de maatschappij der mensen zot is.
