Climatology is the study of climate, scientifically defined as weather conditions averaged over a period of time. Traditionally it is regarded as a branch of the atmospheric sciences and a subfield of physical geography; however, with recent increases in scope this is no longer appropriate, as it now includes aspects of oceanography and biogeochemistry. Climate is governed by physical laws which can be expressed as differential equations. These equations are coupled and nonlinear, so that approximate solutions are obtained by using numerical methods to create global climate models. Climates may undergo large permanent changes and short-term changes. The present book gives a vivid account of Climatology on our planet earth. It can be a dependable source of information, and will prove useful to students, teachers, researchers, scientists, besides the activists in the field concerned.

Contents: Introduction • Global Climate Model • Atmosphere of Earth • Atmospheric Pressure • Emission Spectrum • Surface Weather Analysis • Tornadogenesis • Anticyclogenesis • Quantitative Precipitation Forecast • Earth Rainfall Climatology
