For the first time in trade paperback: the fifth novel in the #1 New York Times bestselling series from Laurell K. Hamilton.

When Branson, Missouri, is hit with a death wave 'four unsolved murders' it doesn't take an expert to realize that all is not well. But luckily for the locals, Anita Blake is an expert in the kinds of preternatural goings-on that have everyone spooked. And she's got an 'in' with the creature that can make sense of the slayings-the sexy master vampire known as Jean-Claude.

The bet of the Anita Blake series so far (of its predecessors I mean). So many twists and turns. Highly recommended.

Jean-Claude is Anita's VILF! After Bill Compton he is my #2 Vamp. Now I have to read the next book for the big night. The rest of the book is good too but at times I could not follow the plot and what was going on between all the bad guys. I am only reading this series for the Vampires. I so have to say Anita, you feisty gal, you have grown on me. If they ever do a TV series, Selena Gomez in a few years will be great as Anita. I'm still thinking on J-C, someone French, has to be a real Frenchmen!
