“The plot twists ingeniously...an engaging, often chilling book.”—The New York Times Book Review

A writer in California. A doctor in Boston. A motel owner and his employee in Nevada. A priest in Chicago. A robber in New York. A little girl in Las Vegas. They’re a handful of people from across the country, living through eerie variations of the same nightmare.

A dark memory is calling out to them. And soon they will be drawn together, deep in the heart of a sprawling desert, where the terrifying truth awaits...

My husband and I read it at the same time and could not put it down. Keeping track of the characters was a bit difficult, as you were reading about one, and the next you know it went elsewhere.

I first read this book many (many) years ago and considered it one of the best (and certainly the most human) books I had ever read. That opinion did not change after my recent reread.
  • Top notch. Left me wanting more.

It’s probably the sign of a good book that it leaves you wanting more. I thoroughly enjoyed this book. I loved the well~developed characters and the plot kept me up way too late over a few nights. I feel like the book needed an epilogue. Given it’s already prodigious length, I understand why it’s missing, but I felt the book ended abruptly, and left me wanting to know what happens next for the characters. Still, it’s a fine read and I highly recommend it.

Koontz was masterful again with his story telling. This book has wonderful characters including a Norwegian looking Jewish woman that speaks fluent Yiddish. It encompasses many detailed subjects including religion, government conspiracies, telekinesis, brain washing, hypnosis, only to name a few. The only problem I had with the book is I found myself taping pictures to my walls and ceilings of a golden retriever named Trixie, but thru hypnosis I found that I had a latent memory of a blond girl with the same name that brushed me with her silken hair and liked to lick my face. Read the book and you will see why I came up with this ridiculous Koontz humor..

I truly enjoyed reading Strangers, Koontz writing is a joy to read. The detailing and the familiarity with his characters that I feel are amazing. If you enjoyed this one try his Odd Thomas series I was truly and deeply saddened when that series ended... He keeps you on the edge of your seat while weaving your emotions into the characters in the book... GREAT!!!!

I really enjoyed this book, the author took the time to develop the set of characters and their relationships but I was left wanting by the lack loose ends being tied. Epilogue maybe? But otherwise a great story.

Loved the book! Engrossing story and characters. I would have liked an epilogue but still well worth the time and money spent!

I have read everything that Koontz has written and this book is wonderful! It is hard to call it my favorite because I love so many of his books but this is one that I have certainly read more than once and will, I am sure, read again!
