Had she finally met the man she longed for...or was she dreaming?

Marlie Keen was trying to lead a quiet, ordinary life. She thought the knowing -- the clairvoyance that allowed her to witness crimes as they happened -- had been destroyed in the nightmare of her past. Then one night it returned with a vengeance, and she desperately needed to find someone to make it stop.

Detective Dane Hollister of the Orlando police department had never met anyone like Marlie. He had doubts about her clairvoyance, but there was no doubt how much he desired her. Her soft, sweet scent set his blood afire, and he wanted to wrap her in his arms and chase the sadness from her eyes. To Marlie, Dane was all heat and hard muscle, and he made her body come alive as it never had before. But not even she could foresee where their passion would lead: a hungry quest for the elusive, dreamy ecstasies of love...and a dangerous journey into the twisted mind of a madman who would threaten their happiness and their lives....

I don't really know what to say about this book. It just really didn't do it for me. Very slow the detective is more of a brut and the female is just blah I didn't see how the too meshed. As for the killer I suppose I've felt the same way... But still didn't do it for me

This book is awful. Pacing is slow, the serial killer is not scary at all, the suspense is as gripping as an overcooked noodle, the sexual tension (usually Ms. Howard's strong suit) is non-existent and the characters are annoying. The hero, Dale, has a self-congratulatory tone for his supreme hetero-maleness, so much so I actually wonder if he was actually in the closet with every single overcompensating word on him. As for Marlie, she was written so much to evoke sympathy that Ms. Howard pushed me the other way. I didn't feel sorry for her at all. She is cringe-worthy and an embarrassing caricature of a woman. When I read a description of her going catatonic during her psychic vision, I actually entertained the thought of Dale resting a coffee cup on her head for easy reach. It would have made an interesting scene at least and broken the tedium and torture I endured reading this drivel.

One of my favorites by Linda Howard. Have read this book over and over, and I love it. Story is great for the mystery/suspense aspects, but also great romance. Male character is a very strong alpha male, protective and herolike. Sexy.
