The next call you take could be your last in this terrifying #1 New York Times bestseller by master storyteller Stephen King!

On October 1, God is in His heaven, the stock market stands at 10,140, most of the planes are on time, and graphic artist Clayton Riddell is visiting Boston, having just landed a deal that might finally enable him to make art instead of teaching it. But all those good feelings about the future change in a hurry thanks to a devastating phenomenon that will come to be known as The Pulse.

The delivery method is a cell phone—everyone’s cell phone. Now Clay and the few desperate survivors who join him suddenly find themselves in the pitch-black night of civilization’s darkest age, surrounded by chaos, carnage, and a relentless human horde that has been reduced to its basest nature...and then begins to evolve.

There’s really no escaping this nightmare. But for Clay, an arrow points the way home to his family in Maine, and as he and his fellow refugees make their harrowing journey north, they begin to see the crude signs confirming their direction. A promise of a safe haven, perhaps, or quite possibly the deadliest trap of all…

Not the best and not the worst but boy were the descriptions of the firearms laughable. Oh well. Still a fun read

Many reviewers have said, at any place or site where you can review a book on your phone, that the scariest thing about this book is that it could probably happen. I wholeheartedly agree! I finished reading Stephen King’s Cell only two weeks ago and it is utterly terrifying! On a seemingly ordinary afternoon, all it takes is the ringing of a cell phone for this ordinary day in Boston, Massachusetts to explode into a nightmare! Suddenly, anyone who answers their cell phone is instantly transformed into a raving lunatic by a strange signal, a “pulse” that is sent through cell phones. Anyone who answers their phone is turned into an out-of-control, murderous maniac from which no one is safe. Graphic artist Clay Riddell is fortunate enough to avoid being one of those who are transformed by the sheer coincidence that he doesn’t own a cell phone. As it quickly dawns on him that the catastrophe didn’t just happen in Boston, but probably everywhere in America, he joins other survivors who are looking for a safe haven, but Clay is also looking for his son. His determination to return home and make sure his son, Johnny, who owns a cell phone, is okay, drives every step of his journey, even as he and his companions make the horrifying discovery that the “phone crazies”,as he and his friends call them, are evolving... and whatever they are evolving into will be something even deadlier than they what they became when the Pulse happened! As critics and fans both seem to agree on, if anyone knows how to put a chilling spin on the modern day “zombie apocalypse” horror novel, it’s definitely master of horror Stephen King! I recommend it to all horror fans who love Stephen King’s books! Just don’t expect too much sleep after you finish it! 🧟‍♀️ 🧟‍♂️

One of the first Stephen King books I ever read and I loved it. IT was so enjoyable all the way through. I don’t know if there’s much else to say about it. Would love more like this, instead of the classic horror stories.

Read the hard copy a few years back. Couldn't put it down. This I think would make for a interesting movie adaptation.

If you love Kings books like Gerald's Game or Under the Dome -- then you must read The Cell.

I have been a lover of King's work for many years and also a lover of the zombie genre. This is a fabulous mix of the two and I could not have been happier. A fabulous read that I did not want to put down.
