Breaking rules and breaking hearts

Free-spirited Chloe lives life on the edge. Unlike her soon-to-be married sisters, she isn't ready to settle into a quiet life running their family's newly renovated inn. But soon her love of trouble--and trouble with love-draws the attention of the very stern, very sexy sheriff who'd like nothing better than to tame her wild ways.

Suddenly Chloe can't take a misstep without the sheriff hot on her heels. His rugged swagger and his enigmatic smile are enough to make a girl beg to be handcuffed. For the first time, instead of avoiding the law, Chloe dreams of surrender. Can this rebel find a way to keep the peace with the straitlaced sheriff? Or will Chloe's colorful past keep her from a love that lasts . . . and the safe haven she truly wants in a town called Lucky Harbor?

  • Love Jill Shalvis but small inconsistencies

I love Jill Shalvis and the first trio of Lucky Harbor books. Great characters, great chemistry. I especially liked Tara & Ford's, and Chloe & Sawyer's stories. The only thing that bothered me were small inconsistencies with the details. In the first book it was mentioned that Sawyer had multiple brothers, in the last book it seemed like Sawyer was an only child. In the second book *spoiler alert* it ended with Ford asking Tara to marry him, in the third book Ford refers to Tara as his GF, and then later Tara was shocked and taken by surprise when Ford wanted to elope. With Chloe and Sawyer they have their painting episode and then about a week goes by with all of Chloe's activities, then at the bonfire they make references "the other night" like the painting episode was the night before. I'm not sure if I'm the only one that notices these things and it doesn't take away from the fact Jill provides the right amount of romance, fun and heat in her stories.

Loved the tension between Chloe and Sawyer! Good read and funny? I also liked how the author incorporated Chloe's asthma and how that can interfere in moments of excitement! Can't wait for the next trilogy that will continue to be set in Lucky Harbor.
