"America's favorite writer" (The New Yorker) begins an all-new trilogy-inspired by the inn she owns and the town she loves.

The historic hotel in BoonsBoro, Maryland, has endured war and peace, changing hands, even rumored hauntings. Now it's getting a major facelift from the Montgomery brothers and their eccentric mother. As the architect of the family, Beckett's social life consists mostly of talking shop over pizza and beer. But there's another project he's got his eye on: the girl he's been waiting to kiss since he was fifteen...

Montgomery brothers remodel an old Inn complete with a honeysuckle scented persnickety ghost who slams doors and manages to help with decisions, and girlfriends. But dont think thats the main premise of the book…its an enjoyable sidelight to the romantic story between Clare and Beckett. Clare comes with three rambunctious kids… Beckett, as an architect and carpenter, comes a love of building and redoing old things, one of which is a life time of loving Clare from afar. A little mystery, a little intrigue, alot of really realistic conversation and I think you’ll find this a good book to relax with at the beach or the mountain resort. Some reviewers didn’t like all the remodeling details, but having done similar projects I was at home with them. In fact, I was ready to see the before and after photos of Inn Boonsboro and may be signup for a weekend!

I have always enjoyed reading Nora’ s books but this was way too deep into the renovation of the Inn. I was more interested in the characters interaction but the author just kept talking about the rebuild. . I started speed reading about half way just to get to the end.
