Grey Knight Alaric is taken back to the Eye of Terror and stripped of his armour and weapons. He is forced to fight in a gladiatorial arena for his daemonic masters, who worship their god, Khorne, with endless slaughter. His only chance to escape is to find a legendary weapon with the power to destroy the forces of Chaos that imprison him, before he is killed, or worse, corrupted.

  • Why Ben Counter?

Of all the authors in the Black Library to write for the motherf**king GREY KNIGHTS why oh why did it have to be Ben Counter? If you are unfamiliar with his work, see the atrocious Soul Drinkers books (or better yet, don't, and save yourself the agony & disappointment). If you don't know who the Grey Knights are, google them, they are the super-secret elite of the elite Adeptus Astartes. That I even gave this book TWO stars speaks to just how AWESOME Grey Knights are. In the hands of a competent author, the three GK books would have easily been rated 4-5 stars. Reading Ben Counter's GK books is like watching a monkey drive your new Porsche into a wall, you wish there was just about ANYONE else behind the wheel.
