A classic science fiction tale with a fun twist. A short read, but worth it if your fan of Asimov’s work.

This version totally ruined the story’s surprise with an illustration a few pages into the story. I was really bummed!

An early 1950s work that though well written shows its age as science fiction, but is actually good as a study in human / alien interaction.
  • Suspense and vicariousness: i couldn't stop reading

Asimov's clear writing style made me feel as though I were in the grass with Red and Slim as they discovered the "animals". The last two pages revealed the final phase of a well-crafted trick on the reader's perception of the characters that prompts the reader to realize that we must not assume we know it all when it comes to encountering something new, someone new, or, especially, an Asimov story.
