From #1 New York Times bestselling author Jennifer L. Armentrout comes the thrilling conclusion to her beloved Flesh and Fire series…

The line between love and obsession has never been wider.

While Sera is finally free of Kolis and back with those she loves, not everything is calm. Memories of all she’s endured still haunt her, but Sera finally has hope for a future with the other half of her heart and soul. Nyktos desires, loves, and accepts every part of her—even the monstrous bits she still battles.

More than ever, Sera and Ash have everything under the realms to fight for, and Nyktos has no doubt Sera is fit to be the Queen of the Gods. But she must find that faith within herself if they hope to convince the other Courts to support them against Kolis and make Iliseeum and the mortal realm better, safer places for all.

But as Sera begins to piece together the importance of her bloodline and the true meaning behind the foreboding prophecy, it becomes clear that everything that has happened and is yet to come is much bigger than Kolis and his dark obsessions.

They cannot help but wonder exactly how much influence the Fates have had and what their ultimate goal is. What Sera does know for sure is that they can trust very few—including her.

A battle between the gods is brewing, and heartbreaking losses are imminent with the true Primal of Death strengthening. With a family of the heart willing to battle by their side, can Sera and Nyktos stop Kolis before he destroys the realms, or will it all disappear in a fiery inferno of blood and ash?

And the line between justice and vengeance has never been so thin.

It was a fantastic read, and I’m curious about how and if this series ties into Wrath and Ruin. I loved this series, perhaps even more than reading about the epic romance between Ash and Poppy. 💞

  • Full of fluff, but a conclusion to a great story

I’m a loyal reader of Jennifer Armentrout’s Flesh & Fire and Blood & Ash series. I loved the first 3 Flesh & Fire novels, but the conclusion left me wanting. It’s (on my e-reader) an 800 page book, with about 300-400 pages of unnecessary exposition that barely ties in with anything in either series. There are a few exceptions, but almost all the core elements of Sera and Ash’s story, and the answers to questions about Poppy and Cas’s timeline is answered in the first 100 or so pages and the final 300 or so pages. I am a fan of a long book to get as much time with beloved characters as possible, but this just doesn’t serve them. It’s worth reading because it does offer critical insights, and it’s the conclusion to an overall great series. However, for the length of this book, the writer could have cut out half of what is in it and used that time to actually write some of the key life events at the end, rather than squeezing the entirety of the story into the final pages and then cutting off at what seems to be a very odd time for a concluding novel.

700 pages in, and absolutely nothing, total waste of money should just write pornography, wrong kind of fantasy

This book is complex and compelling. It links into the Blood and Ash series with precision. While Blood and Ash will forever be my favorite. Armentrout’s characters deal with real world issues in a fantasy setting in a mature and supportive way. It is a cerebral cornucopia of inner strength and acceptance of personal shortcomings in characters that can literally change worlds while being engaging and entertaining. I couldn’t put it down. Enjoy.
  • Very disappointed

Terribly disappointed in this last installment. This book needed to be split into 2 additional books. Clearly you can see that the author was in a rush to end the series. Chock full of disorganized information that you had to sort out in your head. It was rushed, and very condensed. It’s a shame that the author didn’t spend enough time on this as she did with the first 3 books. It simply fell flat for me. Very disappointed.
  • Very intriguing, nail biting, humorous, and felt so very real.

It was a great end to the story and the whole series has a great plot. I feel like it has a little too much inner monologue and sex scenes, which I don’t mind, but the amount was just too much. I ended up skipping over a lot of it just to get to the story, which was frustrating. But overall, a great series. Can’t wait to finish Poppy’s story.
  • Bad writing ruins it

Haven’t finished it so can’t speak to the story, but trying to read this book is getting physically painful. It’s so disappointing, because I loved the original Blood & Ash book, but it feels like with every book in the series (technically both series) the writing just gets worse, and worse, and worse. I’m amazed the publisher agreed to print this tbh. Jennifer is capable of so much more than this, and it’s sad that she’s let her standards plummet this low.
  • Just wow!

This ending was amazing. This book tied everything together from the other books. Everything makes sense now. What a great story!!
