I never really grew to care about the characters, nor did I feel any real chemistry between Alexander and Margaret. Overall, it was an entertaining read. I enjoyed the history of it, but the romance lacked considerably. I found it strange that the author chose to skip over the romantic encounters but always included a few "penetrating" words to describe what happened. The book lacked dialog and feeling, read more like a summarry history lesson.
  • Great historical
