Pathfinder: Before the Godsrain

Pathfinder’s beloved iconic heroes make their fiction debut in Godsrain—A Pathfinder Novel, set to release in November 2024. But the characters have existed since 2007 and have many existing adventures documented in flash fiction on the Paizo Blog and other promotional locations. Now, for the first time, readers can find these stories collected into a single volume, a perfect primer before diving into Godsrain or to further explore their history after meeting them for the first time.

Inside, you’ll find the origins and selected past adventures of all four iconic heroes:
Kyra, the cleric, whose devotion to Sarenrae, goddess of the sun, healing, and redemption, is challenged only by her devotion to her wife… Merisiel, the elf rogue, whose life among the short-lived peoples of the world have made her Forlorn, a condition only exacerbated by her love for Kyra. Ezren, the wizard, who abandoned a posh life as a merchant’s son after discovering his father’s criminal past and devoted his life not to clearing his soiled name but to the study of the arcane. Amiri, the barbarian, whose exile from her tribe of nomadic hunters has left her with only her rage and her companions to provide solace in a dangerous world.
Before the Godsrain features a dozen works of flash and short fiction, including the “Meet the Iconics” origins of all four characters, updated and expanded for this publication, seven entries from the popular Iconic Encounters series including Kyra and Merisiel’s wedding and the four-part “Returning Home” short story following Amiri’s return to her homeland after years of exile, and a bonus entry from the Windsong Testaments recounting the mythological battle between the gods at the dawn of time which plays a central role in the Godsrain novel.
