Vincent

Hot chicks and cool ink have been my life, my everything, for the past five years. But with one phone call that bliss is totally shot to shit. Don’t want to hear it. Don’t want to deal with it. But oh yeah, it’s coming for me. The motherfucking past. And who’s along for the ride? You’re never gonna believe it. That’s right, another blast from my past. The one and only rejection. Blondie. Hey…maybe it’s not all bad. Maybe I can finally get her - legs up and back to the mattress, that is.

Lisa

Yes, I’m getting married. And yes, it’s to ‘Buttons.’ I’m not embarrassed and I don’t think it’s a failure. Unfortunately, my bestie doesn’t agree. In fact, she thinks she has to rescue me. But ladies and gents, I’m beyond help. I’m cooked. I just want to fade into the Santa Barbara’s overly polished woodwork. If only a gorgeous tatted, foul-mouthed problem from my past would stop showing up and showing off what I’m never going to allow myself to have.

I loved Vincent in the other two Wicked Ink stories, but now there is no coming back! Laura Wright created a very complex and layered character. Just when you think you know V, there something else there! In fact, I am pretty sure I need to find a way to wash my brain out!!!!! V is exactly what my mama warned me about and I can't wait for more. Lisa is a very believable young woman with no idea what to do with her life after college. She lost herself very quickly and then ended up on the path of least resistance. There is an reason electricity takes this path, because it is easy and safe and the next thing you know, you are living someone else's idea of a happy ever after. When we finally learn what makes V tick, the interactions between the two are amazing. Lisa finally remembers she is strong and can think for herself and V learns there is a different way to deal with is past and trauma. I applaud Laura Wright for Vincent. She created a deeply wounded character and took on topics that are uncomfortable for a lot of people but is more "accepted" when it happens to female characters. I can't wait for more of Lisa and V.

The attraction was instant for Lisa and Vincent in First Ink, but he just wanted her to join in a threesome. She shot that down real quick. All through Shattered Ink their banter leads you to believe they will have a story. Rebel Ink is their story...and what an emotional roller coaster of a ride. After a bachelorette party gone wrong, Lisa and Vincent wake up on a private jet going to the one place he swore he would never return...Home! Vincent's past comes hurtling at us and we find out why he is such a manwhore. Lisa becomes his anchor in the storm. Lisa realizes she's never wanted the life & husband her parents have planned for her. Vincent and Lisa have found their perfect someone in each other. This was a great story, the only problem it was too short! Hope there is more for Lisa and Vincent. Looking forward to the next Wicked Ink Chronicle.
