Ever since I read A Christmas Carol every holiday season, I had to read it again this year before Christmas, because it is subtitled as “A Ghostly Story”. What was so moving about this story was that people who suffer in their own life they have chosen like Scrooge makes me cry. Up until I read the part when Scrooge faces his future self, he finally makes a choice to keep Christmas in his heart. I, likewise, learn everyday to keep love in my heart closely to family and friends. Besides a Christmas story, it is a story that is supposed to change people’s lives forever through every year. So I like to give huge credit and debt to Charles Dickens for giving us such a wonderfully moving story that intensely touches our hearts. God Bless Us, Every One!

Just the best told tale of mercy and Grace, repentance and forgiveness. A must read at least once a year!

This is the first time in 50+ years that I've read A Christmas Carol, and it did not disappoint. I discovered that over the years, the various movies and stories "based" on this book have taken quite a bit of literary license. I've been very satisfied by finally reading the original and taking in the spirit with which is was intended.

What a treat to 1) find a free copy of Dickens' tale; 2) see reproductions of the hand-written manuscript; 3) enjoy the original artwork; 4) read, for the first time, the source material for so many wonderful Christmas movies. It was interesting to find a couple scenes that, as far as I know, have never made it into a screen adaptation of this classic. It was also fun to learn that many of the wonderful lines that I've heatd spoken by Mister Magoo or George C. Scott or Michael Caine are direct quotes. Just reading the closing chapter, in which Scrooge skitters about in unbridled glee, was enough to make me giddy as a school boy.

The classic Christmas tale of old Ebeneezer Scrooge. Very easy and quick to read. Also has pictures of the original manuscript which is neat. I enjoyed going back to my childhood while reading this.
